BATTERY OPERATED SMOKE DETECTOR
The C30MK2 battery operated smoke alarm has been designed specifically for use in residential applications, ideal for bedrooms, hallways and lounge rooms. Each detector operates as a stand alone unit with its own alarm sounder, test button and 9V battery. The detector head can be removed from the base for ease of installation. Once the base is mounted simply insert the head and twist to engage the detector.

EMBER DETECTOR
The series 4600 Solar Blind Infrared Ember Detectors are a family of ultra sensitive optical sensors designed to detect, in the presence of ambient light, the radiant energy emitted by minute burning or glowing particles being transported on conveyor belts.

PERFORMANCE
The sensor is designed to detect a 6.25cm2 infrared glowing radiator travelling at speeds between 2.5 and 6m/sec in daylight under optimum conditions. Even with a layer of dust on the viewing window, the detector remains sensitive.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The 4600 Solar Blind Infrared Ember Detector employs a narrow band optical filter with a sapphire lens. This narrow band includes the high peak emissions generated by the formation of CO2 (4.35 microns) and CO (4.6 microns). Sun light, arc welding and artificial lighting have minimal radiation in this band. This precise filtering combined with extreme amplification and noise cancelling techniques result in a reliable and dependable moving ember detector. When burning or glowing embers enter the cone of vision of a detector, it responds with an output signal.

FIRE BEAM DETECTOR
Motorised reflective optical beam smoke detector developed to overcome the problems of old outdated technology in beam detection, this motorised beam now means that beam detection can now be used reliably to produce cost effective solutions for protecting large areas. A low level controller means you can do everything from the safety of ground level. When using the firebeam you simply know what’s going on. Building movement and accessibility have in the past, made beam detection unreliable, difficult, time consuming to commission and hard to maintain, but now by using the advanced motorised technology of the firebeam unreliability is no longer a problem. The firebeam will self-align itself to the centre of the reflector when commissioning and will automatically keep alignment with the reflector when building movement occurs. This intelligent motorisation will mean less false alarms therefore saving time, resources, reputations and ultimately money.

INTELLIGENT FIRE CONTROL PANEL
Based around two core products, the TC4010 Remote Display Terminal (RDT) and the fully functional TC4020 Remote Control Terminal (RCT). Both remote terminals utilise the same graphical LCD user interface that can be found on the TC4000 series fire panels and are based upon the same advanced, flash based, microprocessor technology. All TC4000 series panels and remote terminals can communicate over the same 2-core network cable. Integral network interface incorporating a special screen termination to prevent mains frequency earth-loop currents flowing between network nodes. The ‘Ad-NeT’ network operates as a true peer-to-peer system with full cross panel reporting, control and cause and effect functionality of up to 1000 zones. The display information is fully programmable by individual zone or sector and can display any combination of fires, faults, pre alarms or plant alarms. E.g. can display all information in its own sector, but only show fire signals from other sectors of a building. Both remote terminals incorporate buzzer mute, view, enable/disable and test facilities with dedicated system and navigation keys for simple user control. The RCT has additional sector based control keys for Evacuate, Silence, Resound and Reset, which allows other networked panels to selectively respond to controls as programmed. E.g. on a site with multiple buildings, a user may be allowed to silence and reset fires originating in their own building. Fires originating from other buildings are displayed but cannot be reset. Fully on-site programmable via on-board alphanumeric keypad or PC configuration tools. By using 'flash memory' and an advanced graphical display the remote terminals can be easily configured to operate in virtually any language, with any character set and allows for the installer’s logo and company details to be displayed on the LCD display during normal operation.

SERIES 65 HEAT DETECTOR
Series 65 incorporates well-proven sensing technologies, together with advances in materials and electronics technology, including an IC based on that used in XP95 analogue addressable detectors. Having a wide operating voltage of 9-33V, the Series 65 detectors can be integrated into security systems, when used with a relay base. The A1R, BR and CR (rate-of-rise) heat detectors operate by using a matched pair of thermistors to sense heat. One thermistor is exposed to the ambient temperature, the other is sealed. In normal conditions the two thermistors register similar temperatures, but, on the development of a fire, the temperature recorded by the exposed thermistor will increase rapidly, resulting in an imbalance, causing the detector to change into the alarm state. Rate-of-rise detectors are designed to detect a fire as the temperature increases, but they also have a fixed upper limit at which the detector will go into alarm if the rate of temperature increase has been too slow to trigger the detector earlier. The CS (static response) heat detector has only one thermistor and changes to the alarm state at a pre-set temperature. Externally, the heat detectors are distinguishable from the smoke detectors by having wide openings to the surrounding atmosphere to allow good movement of air around the external thermistor.

SERIES 65 IONISATION SMOKE DETECTOR
Series 65 incorporates well-proven sensing technologies, together with advances in materials and electronics technology, including an IC based on that used in XP95 analogue addressable detectors. Having a wide operating voltage of 9-33V, the Series 65 detectors can be integrated into security systems, when used with a relay base.

The Series 65 wide voltage range consists of ionisation, integrating ionisation and optical smoke detectors, 4 grades of heat detector and a range of bases. The sensing part of the detector consists of two chambers – an open, outer chamber and a semi sealed reference chamber within. Mounted in the reference chamber is a low activity radioactive foil of Americium 241 which enables current to flow between the inner and outer chambers when the detector is powered up. As smoke enters the detector, it causes a reduction of the current flow in the outer chamber and hence an increase in voltage measured at the junction between the two chambers. The voltage increase is monitored by the electronic circuitry which triggers the detector into the alarm state at a pre-set threshold. An externally visible red LED lights up when the detector changes to alarm state. An integrating ionisation detector, suitable for use in areas where transient levels of smoke may be expected, is also available.

SERIES 65 OPTICAL SMOKE DETECTOR
Series 65 incorporates well-proven sensing technologies, together with advances in materials and electronics technology, including an IC based on that used in XP95 analogue addressable detectors. Having a wide operating voltage of 9-33V, the Series 65 detectors can be integrated into security systems, when used with a relay base. The Series 65 wide voltage range consists of ionisation, integrating ionisation and optical smoke detectors, 4 grades of heat detector and a range of bases. Optical smoke detectors incorporate a pulsing LED located in a chamber within the housing of the detector. The chamber is designed to exclude light from any external source. At an angle to the LED is a photo-diode which normally does not register the column of light emitted by the LED. In the event of smoke from a fire entering the chamber, the light pulse from the LED will be scattered and hence registered by the photodiode. If the photo-diode “sees” smoke on the two following pulses, the detector changes into the alarm state and the indicator LED lights up. The detector housing is identical to that of the ionisation detector but has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces red light in alarm.

ASPIRATING SMOKE DETECTION
The VESDA Laser System is an Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) System capable of detecting smoke at low obscuration levels. This enabling detection of smoke at the incipient stage. VESDA Laser Systems are successfully operating in applications ranging from ultra clean to harsh dirty environments. The laser detectors have a variety of alarm levels. The thresholds for each alarm level can be set to suit specific site conditions.

The VESDA Laser System, incorporates a network of pipes with sampling holes continuously collecting air samples from the area being protected. The sample air in the pipe network is drawn to the detector by a high efficiency aspirator. The detector can detect minute concentrations of smoke, this is expressed as 0.1% obs per meter.

The VESDA Laser System can be integrated to external Fire Alarm Control Panels and other building management systems to raise pre-alarm and alarm conditions, action automatic emergency procedures, and shut down ventilation systems. It can also be integrated into an automatic fire suppressant release system.
